"They sure do a wonderful job on all the old Southern Songs. Dixie will bring Chills up your Spine for sure." ~J. Doe, Tennessee performance
"On Friday night, participants enjoyed a special off-site reception on Mud Island where they were able to tour the Mississippi River Museum, and listen to the music of the 5th Alabama Infantry Regimental Band and hear a talk discussing the Sultana disaster by Edwin C. Bears, Saturday evening's dinner banquet was highlighted by the fabulous and lovely music of the 5th Alabama Regimental Band, and the presentation of CWPT's annual Preservation Awards." ~Civil War Preservation Trust Magazine: "Hallowed Ground," referencing the 2006 National Convention in Memphis, TN
"We are delighted that you have chosen to spend a moment in time with the "incomparable" 5th Alabama Infantry Regiment Band. Relax, enjoy, and let us take you back, in the mind's eye, to another time, another place; a land of cavaliers, soft spoken gentlemen on horseback; beautiful women in crinoline wandering through rose scented gardens; yeoman farmers and cotton fields; a land called the Old South. Here in this pretty world, gallantry took its last bow, the last ever to be seen of those knights and their fair ladies. Look for it only in books and listen to it only in the music for it is no more than a dream remembered. Enjoy the music of times long past as the 5th Alabama will "arouse the spirit and stir your soul." ~Tuscaloosa News, January 1997
"The 5th Alabama Regimental Band was outstanding and provided the perfect closing of our Convention." ~Philip Law, National Military Order of the Stars & Bars Commander
"Your performance was outstanding as usual and we all look forward to the next time our paths cross. Everyone enjoyed the music and even some who NEVER dance got out on the floor. God Save the South." ~Bert Blackmon
"I am a descendant of Thomas Edward King of Roswell GA and was present for the memorial service on August 23 at the Old Presbyterian Cemetery in Roswell. I just wanted to let you know that I very much loved hearing the band and was quite moved by the music. (I also bought all the CD's and am enjoying them greatly as an addition to my collection of CSA songs). Thanks to all who played for us that day! " ~J. Ann Cothran
"I am going to order all of your cd's as soon as I finish this e-mail." ~Barbour Grays
"I really did like the 5th Alabama band it was great to hear the south and to learn about the music. Tell them job well done from a soldier far away from Dixie that for the moment I was in Dixie ." ~Sgt. Glenn Venner
"I would like to inquire as to if it is possible to use the 5th Alabama Band's recordings of songs for use at the Texas Civil War Museum. I own the CD. I am currently putting together a teacher in-service for the Fort Worth, Texas ISD as part of a three year Teaching American History Grant from the National Education Agency. Our first in-service will feature Period Music. I have prepared a power point presentation and we have a guest vocalist who will be performing live at the museum for all of the 8th grade history teachers. I would like to be able to send each school the power point containing the lyrics and recorded music for use in their classrooms." ~Cynthia L. Harriman
